Citizens for a Healthy Bay and the Tacoma Liveaboard Association are co-hosting the 2nd Annual Clean Green Boating Festival!
This free, open-to-the-public 2nd Annual "Clean, Green Boating Festival" is targeted towards boaters, outdoor enthusiasts and others interestered in a more sustainable future for Puget Sound.
The purpose of the Festival is to bring environmental awareness to our community members who enjoy on-the-water recreation in Puget Sound and to show the impact of our actions on the waterways and shorelines. Environmental stewardship is everyone's responsibility.
--Free "citizen science" boat tours on Commencement Bay
--Stormwater and Marina "clean water" education
--Workshops and "How to" seminars for boaters
--Family activities

"Clean, Green Boating Scholarship"
This year CHB and the Tacoma Liveaboards announce the 2010 "Clean, Green Boating Scholarship" Essay Contest. Tacoma area high school students are invited to write original essays on the topic of "A Healthy Puget Sound: What's the Problem, and How Do We Change It?" The winning essay will enable a local high school group to experience a 3-day, 2-night on-the-water marine science expedition in Puget Sound.

Programming/Exhibitor Participation
The theme of the "Clean, Green Boating Festival" is environmental stewardship and protecting our waterways through prevention, conservation, responsible behavior, and compliance with pollution regulations. Exhibitors, Vendors, agencies and community groups representing "green," environmentally-oriented products, services and educational information are invited to participate in the Festival at Foss Waterway Seaport.
